Ghana travel checklist
Requirements depend on citizenship, residency, transit points, health history and personal circumstances. This checklist organizes your review; it does not declare that a particular visa or vaccination applies to every traveler.
Passport and identity
Confirm that your passport is valid for your citizenship, destination, transit points and return itinerary. Use the same legal name on the passport, flights and reservation.
Visa and entry authorization
Check whether your citizenship and travel purpose require a visa, electronic authorization, arrival form, proof of onward travel or other entry document.
Health and vaccination review
Review current destination notices with the CDC and a qualified medical professional. Requirements and recommendations depend on health history, itinerary, transit and origin.
Travel insurance
Review medical, cancellation, interruption, evacuation and activity coverage. Travel insurance is highly recommended and is not included unless expressly stated.
Flights and transfers
Confirm the journey airport, official arrival and departure dates, transfer instructions, baggage rules and any separate transportation needed outside the included window.
Travel records
Carry accessible copies of bookings, emergency contacts, prescriptions, insurance details and required travel documents. Do not send passports or sensitive records through an unapproved channel.
Ghana entry recheck
Recheck Ghana visa, passport and any health-entry documentation applicable to your citizenship and travel history before booking and departure.
Health appointment timing
Consult a qualified medical professional early enough to address destination guidance and any documentation that may apply to your itinerary.

Coming alone or with someone you know
- Shared-room pricing is per person.
- Travelers joining with someone they already know each reserve their own shared-room package. A linked two-traveler checkout is not available yet.
- Travelers joining solo may request roommate matching. Purpose & Passport™ matches travelers of the same gender unless both travelers and an administrator approve another arrangement.
- Roommate matching is requested, never guaranteed.
- If roommate matching cannot be completed, Purpose & Passport™ will contact the traveler regarding available accommodation options before room assignments are finalized. No complimentary solo-room upgrade is promised.

Deposit today, then four payments.
A spot is reserved with the deposit for the selected package. The deposit is applied toward the total price. The remaining balance is then divided into four equal payments. Payment dates and the final payment deadline are set in the written reservation confirmation, and the final payment is always due before departure.
- Luxury Shared Room: $397 deposit, then 4 payments of $900 ($3,600 balance).
- Luxury Solo Room: $497 deposit, then 4 payments of $1,075 ($4,300 balance).
- Online payment is not currently available. After availability is confirmed and the applicable booking terms are accepted, Purpose & Passport™ will provide authorized payment instructions directly to the traveler.
- The deposit is required to reserve a spot and is applied toward the total price.
- After the deposit, the remaining balance is paid in four equal installments.
- Installment dates and the final payment deadline are stated in the written reservation confirmation.
- All payments must be completed before the final payment deadline; a spot is not fully confirmed until the balance is paid in full.
- A missed, declined, reversed or unpaid installment may result in cancellation of the reservation, and amounts already paid are retained under the non-refundable policy.
- Paying the full balance earlier than the schedule is always permitted.
- Authorized payment instructions are provided directly to the traveler by Purpose & Passport™; no payment destination is published on this website.
Public online booking and payment are not active. Online reservations, card checkout and automated installment payments are not offered on this website, and no payment destination is published here. Online payment is not currently available. After availability is confirmed and the applicable booking terms are accepted, Purpose & Passport™ will provide authorized payment instructions directly to the traveler.
Cancellation and refunds
All payments are non-refundable.
- All payments — the deposit and every installment — are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- This applies to cancellations for any reason, including a change of plans, a schedule conflict, a work or personal situation, a missed flight, a denied or delayed travel document, or a decision not to travel.
- Purpose & Passport™ commits funds to accommodations, transportation, experiences and other suppliers on the strength of confirmed reservations, and those commitments are not recoverable.
- Payments cannot be moved to another traveler or to another Purpose & Passport™ journey unless expressly approved in writing.
- Voluntarily skipping an included activity, meal, transfer or event does not create a refund or credit.
- Travel insurance is not included and is highly recommended; a covered cancellation is handled by the insurer, not by Purpose & Passport™.
- If Purpose & Passport™ cancels a journey, the organizer-cancellation provisions of the Hosted Journey Terms apply instead — traveler-cancellation rules do not.
- Nothing in this policy removes a right that applicable consumer-protection law requires.
This policy is presented in writing and must be accepted before any payment is requested. The full Hosted Journey Terms remain a review draft while legal review is completed.
Travel insurance — highly recommended
Travel insurance is highly recommended for every Purpose & Passport™ Hosted Journey, because all Hosted Journey payments are non-refundable. Travel insurance is not included and any policy is provided by a third-party insurer, not by Purpose & Passport™. Full booking, cancellation and refund terms are presented in writing before any payment is requested.
On-site support
24/7 Purpose & Passport™ on-site guest support during the official Hosted Journey means your trip host and support team are reachable throughout the journey. It does not mean Purpose & Passport™ provides medical care, security services, legal services, government assistance, or guaranteed resolution of airline disruptions.
Two separate heritage sites
VerifiedThe Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River and the Elmina / Cape Coast castle experience are historically connected but are two different locations. Both are contracted inclusions and are visited separately, each with its own dedicated time on the itinerary.
